Lagoon babies

awkward moment at Lagoon:
Soon after Sifo and I get to the top of the Pipeline Slides:

Pipeline Slide Attendant: "Do you have a swimsuit under that?"

Me: "Yes"

Pipeline Slide Attendant: "Can you take off your shirt then when you go down?"

My thoughts: "Am I being punked?"

We did take off our shirts! Thank goodness those slides were closed tubes! Haha! What? Can't a girl be modest even in 2008????... SHEESH!
......................................................................................................

WHY DON'T WE...
Obviously I've got no pictures from our Lagoon trip because I'm such a dope! But there is an actually good explanation for that!!!
One of Sa's friends, Amani, invited us to Lagoon with his family and we politely declined "last minute"-like when they called in the morning to tell us they were heading out! Yes, we suck! But at around 1pm as we were driving to find some breakfast (shhhhh!) - me and my big mouth suddenly said "Why don't we go to Lagoon???"...
The rest is history. We invited Anthony and Sifo and baby Sina to make it a family affair and I packed all the soda and whatnots we were going to need and didn't remember the camera until we were in line to buy tickets!!!
Yeah - you're right - that was the lamest excuse ever!
....................................................................................................
LET'S TAKE TURNS...
We met up our friend Amani, his wife Emily and oldest son Maddox at the Water Park and started a system of sorts to figure out when we watch after the babies and when we get some fun time alone!!!
All I have to say is - maybe we ladies get the slightly raw end of the deals we make with our gentlemen... hehe...
Now even though I got some time to float around on them tubes and got to kick my way past rowdy teens (hey - just keeping it real here) - I also can't complain that I got to come down those mini body slides near the end of our day - - - - nothing can compare to the fun we had with the babies when we were all in the water together!!!
......................................................................................................
TWO THUMBS UP...we're going back!!
So at the end of it all (and yes - this is the end of my blog entry too...so quit sighing so much!) - Coretta and my niece Sina looked like the cutest twins ever! Heiress looked like a curious little kitten on those tubes - this girl never gave much of a reaction to what was going on around her! Atleast she was the only one who actually napped there!!!
Sa, Anthony and Amani got in some volleyball time. Sifo and I were just thrilled to be out and about with lots of baby help!!!..haha...
We got our tickets validated to go back for just a fraction of the price so we're going back hopefully next week and we're definitely NOT going to forget the camera! - Just help me remember to buy batteries for it!....
......................................................................................................
an afterthought: "I actually learnt something at Lagoon yesterday! - Americans have so much confidence in how they look in public - It's something I know I have (i.e. confidence) - but I truly think there's a fine line between "that" and just being plain "rude"! - think about it.

so well put...

Q. You won the MVP, you led the team to The Finals, how do you characterize the season?

KOBE BRYANT: Well, I mean, the goal was to win a championship. It wasn’t to win MVP or anything like that, it was to win a championship. From that aspect, we failed.

**********************************************************

Everday has a theme... and June 17 was a day of "competition". Nothing could've prepared us for the unmatched rejection that resulted in the 17th Celtics NBA title this past Sunday. I was completely speechless - yes, even I, a self-proclaimed lakers-hater to the bone. See I love competition but what we got on Sunday was a slap in the face for all those who were hoping to see a GREAT GAME of basketball... instead, we got a 39pt differnce and a premature celebration and even a benchwarmer from the Celtics running his mouth like his "zero minutes in the post-season" really did make a difference. Either way - he's got his ring too, huh?

On the upside though... I have grown to love "extra creamy Cool Whip" whipped cream. This stuff is amazing. haha... I also have a preference for Sweet Chilli sauce now. Now that stuff is even more amazing because I can eat it with any kind of MEAT! How great is that? And how random am I?

Well just as my attention quickly left the nba finals in this blog - I hope that others can follow suit and look forward to the coming year. Trust me - such is life; with it's ups and downs... thank goodness for all the great things we have like families and friends and not forgetting whipped cream and sweet chilli sauce to get us through the aspects we fail.

Lakers Luck

So I've decided to blame all the crazy stuff that's been happening around here on the LAKERS LUCK!!!...

Coretta before the bday party.
1. We had our birthday celebration on Sunday for Coretta's 2nd bday! I'm telling you - it was NOT her day! By the end of it all - she suffered crazy allergy symptoms that prompted an "almost" trip to the ER; but I'm glad to report that 'Daddy knows best' and it cleared up after waiting a little while.
As if that wasn't enough - she took a 2step tumble from our stairs and pierced her bottom lip and boy was that messy!!!
On the whole it was a great day - but she was just not diggin' it at all.
And before I forget, we also had a little altercation with our neighbor to do with the bbq. I dont fully understand the details but a few colorful phrases were exchanged with a few of our guests (or should i say one of them) and now I'm trying to find the time to go over and clear things up.

2. This is Heiress when we were at the park for Sa's rugby sevens games on Saturday. My eyes water nonstop now since then. Allergies!! Ugghhh!.. Who ever heard of a Samoan with allergies or any type of reaction that wasn't connected to food??? Weird I tell ya!
So while we were there, mosquitoes were abuzz and Coretta took a fall from the bleachers-she has a crazy looking scab to prove it. AND I found myself surrounded by a rather distasteful crowd. I hope you can agree that next to keeping my personal privacy to myself - "too much info" about others would be more satisfying if avoided entirely.

THOUGH ALL IS NOT LOST

At the end of the weekend: Sa played some awesome rugby; Coretta's bday bbq was great fun! I got great reviews from friends and family about it... So here's a shoutout to the behind the scenes crew: Sa, Anthony, Sifo, and Seuao! We got to chill with some other young couples like us at the party and the highlight of it all, was spending alot of family time together!
Last note: the Lakers Luck is sure to run out but our own fates and destiny depend on where we're headed. If it's success you want - the Lakers are DEFINITELY headed the opposite direction!...
come on celtics - time to close 'em out!...

KEEPING IT REAL

just so all of you know...

Dont be misled by the layout! - I love keeping up with the NBA season as a whole - but I DO NOT favor the Lakers (esp Kobe Bryant). I used to be an avid fan of the Dallas Mavericks but I was a fan of their team when Avery Johnson was their coach. So now Im at a crossroads because Im on the hunt for another team to root for... and my best bet is on the Jazz these days. The only reason I've got Kobe up is because I've considered that although my blog is on behalf of my family - I'll be the only one on here... So I've decided to implement some of my family member's favorite things..... and Sa's favorite team is ofcourse the Lakers.... (what is it with polys and the Lakers???)... and why did i take so long to explain that?... because I wanted you all to know that Im a Lakers-hater!... hehe...

Anyhow - one thing's for sure... Sa and his number 1 fan (our daughter Heiress) - are gonna have to put up with me and my "selective number 1 and not so big at times" fan (our eldest Coretta) when it comes to the playoffs and our teams make it.

See what I mean?...

so that's that...

until Coretta and I find our team to cheer for... we'll atleast keep things on the real.... Though while we're on the subject of incorporating our favorite things... I might as well put up Coretta's fav character in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD....and frankly I'd take this one over Kobe and the Lakers ANY DAY!!!....

who doesn't like elmo?? ...

i hate my dryer

today's pros:
  • the girls got to nap twice (no complaint there most days)...
  • sa got off of work early... YAY... (added help for sure)
  • restocked my laundry supplies....(the piles are shrinking slowly but surely)
  • heiress is gettin' a little better from all the allergies... dang it

today's cons:

  • my dryer has a mind of it's own... it decides when to heat up and not to... dang
  • my dryer makes funny noises.... bugs the babies....as in SCARES them silly
  • my dryer ... as is ... id like to kick it
